<><><><><>Mills Quarter Horses originated back in 1974 as Booralie Quarter Horses, breeding working bred horses with Halter Horse looks. Many of the horses we have bred have gone on to be much loved members of families all over Australia & as far away as New Caledonia. New Zealand & Thailand. In more recent years we have concentrated on breeding superior Halter Horses that, nevertheless, have the conformation & ability to follow ridden pursuits. We want to be able to enjoy haltering our horses without compromising their ridden ability. For that reason we don't pursue fads but breed good looking useful horses incorporating the most successful Halter bloodlines available in the world today.
<>We imported LP Kids Yella Image in 2004 in order to bring to Australia the bloodlines that are dominating the US Halter scene at present. His sire Mr Yella Fella has now been the Number 1# Leading Sire of Halter Horses in the USA for over 3 years as well as being the Leading Sire of Champion Palominos. His dam Cowgirls Kid, is by the illustrious Kid Clu, who's sons & grandson dominate the other top placings in the Leading Sires list.

<>OUR NEW COLT
<>We recently sold Killian to the Bruger Family of Mount Macedon- a very hard thing to do as he was part of the family- with the intention of scaling down our stud & maybe doing "other things".
But horse nuts being horse nuts I found being "stallionless" impossible- deciding instead to retain the Killian fillies we have & buy a colt to breed to them eventually. After exhaustive searching in the US with little success we have just bought an Australian bred 2yo colt which I believe is every bit as good or better, as anything I found in the States.
<>Self Obsessed is a gorgeous buttermilk buckskin by An Obsession (imp) & from JVQ Gold Seeker by Ima Cool Seeker. Not only has he a lovely temperament but is exceptionally well put together & we are excited to be breeding to him this spring. We will be breeding together the two predominant Halter Bloodlines currently in the States- Mr Yella Fella & Kids Classic Style- very exciting!!
